Labor, Delivery and Recovery

For the birth of your baby, we’ve prepared a private and spacious Labor, Delivery and Recovery (LDR) suite. With an adjustable bed, jetted tubs, and reclining sleeper for your coach, our suites are designed to increase your comfort during labor. Each suite is also fully equipped to help ensure a safe delivery and outstanding medical care for the first hours of your baby’s life.

If you require a Cesarean section, we have surgical suites dedicated to women’s services, so you will be able to deliver your baby in an operating room located right in our maternity unit.

After your baby is born and you've had time to recover, you will move to another private room in our Women’s Center. Nurses with specialized training will care for you and your baby.

Doctors and scientists agree that early detection is the best defense against breast cancer. If we find breast cancer early, before it has spread to lymph nodes, the five-year survival rate is almost 100 percent.1 Until now, the best way to do that has been with digital mammography.

Mammography

While digital mammography is still one of the most advanced technologies available today, it is only a 2-dimensional picture of the breast. The breast is a 3-dimensional object composed of different structures, such as blood vessels, milk ducts, fat, and ligaments. All of these structures, which are located at different heights within the breast, can overlap and cause confusion when viewed as a 2-dimensional, flat image. This confusion of overlapping tissue is a leading reason why small breast cancers may be missed and normal tissue may appear abnormal, leading to unnecessary callbacks.

Hologic – a world leader in digital mammography – has developed an advanced technology called breast tomosynthesis, which has been shown in clinical studies to be superior to digital mammography.

Top Tips for Healthy Breasts
Every woman’s experience with her breasts is similarly unique. While one person may have dramatic changes in the appearance and feel of her breasts over time related to menstrual cycle, pregnancy, birth control pills, age and weight changes, others may never be aware of symptoms. It helps to become comfortable with the appearance and feel of your own breasts so that you can be confident when there is a change you want to discuss with your doctor. If you feel a lump, don’t wait. Make the call.
